    I just installed MSN messenger, and attempted to open it...however it doesn't open, no windows or anything. but when I check the task manager "msnmsgr.exe" is there ...

    anyone know why?

    I have the ASUS S96S windows vista home premium, T7500, 2gb RAM

    What version of MSN messenger (now renamed Windows Live Messenger) did you download, and from where did you download it? If the window did not open try looking for the icon in the system tray.

    it's the newest version from the official website...I tried finding it in the syste tray, not there, well at least I don't see it. an like i said, it's in the task manager, however, it's under the second tab only, not the first tab..and i tried to shut down the msnmsgr.exe but it won't shut off.

    and whenever application like msn does not close down, I cannot restart or turn off my computer, it'll freeze at the "turning off" blue screen

    Thats strange...try uninstalling it, then reinstall it, and then see what happens

    I've the same problem with an Asus A7S. I've uninstalled MSN so Vista works fine but when I reinstall MSN the bug is still there.
