    I need to set my vista sp1 laptop's background to an animated gif
    just like my old vista laptop, it wont work
    the image is static

    how do i set animated gif as background on vista premium sp1?

    you didn't read it
    I have vista
    if i do ANY animated gif it just shows static image

    Vista doesn't seem to like displaying .gif in any Windows based picture viewer.
    you will have to use some other program to view .gifs
    i believe this is why you can no longer hav .gifs as backgrounds? :confused:

    what??? If i enter the file location it says its not the right file type
    how the heck can't it support animated gif's
    is that for ultimate only??
    DAMNT you need ultimate and dream scene

    yea I tried that it only says it supports 24 bit bmp and jpg files
    how do i change that

    i'm not going to use a program that's 7 years old so I have to run it and be in 16 bit mode all the time

    I need to run gif's as backgound

    one more shot:
    . if u know how to write html code
    . call the gif file into ur code
    . use desktop properties to call the html file as background and u should have it
