hi, my thinkpad x300 (still new, vista SP1 business) hang on entering sleep. after i press the sleep button (start->sleep), the screen fades to black, then it just sits there, sometime still accessing the HD (SSD) after few minutes it restarted and says windows unexpectedly shut down. select safe mode, start windows normally.... etc. etc.
i have only bare minimum on the system. just zonealarm 2009 (v8), office 2007, opera, win live messenger.
i have only win live messenger running in the background (logged out) while i was entering sleep.
-is vista sleep reliable?
-do you put your laptop to sleep?
-have any problem on sleep?
-have your vista ever hang on you? should i do disk check after every hang?
-
I haven't ever had a hang on sleep, but I have on hibernate. On my clean install notebook. My current one has had no freezes yet, whatsoever.
I rarely put my computer to sleep; it is on 24-7, but when I move it -> sleep.
I would do a disk check after a hang. On connected external hard-drives and flash drives as well. -
