I don't really want to have to try an 'old' operating system on a mchine that should work straight out of the box to be honest with you

though i understand what you mean, is it the machine or is it te operating system

now its in my head i'll have to try xp home on it - i'll let you know

i give the seller hell for this, get refund or have them make the thing works before taking it back. vista is brand new so i suspect that their support or installation r not even knowing what to do, only just start vista installation and then pack it.

I even doubt that fujitsu has all the drivers ready for vista yet (like any other brands, so jumping to another machine, does not help u much)

I would suggest, my 2 cents, get them to give u an XP licence - u have a better chance to get ur machine up & running - with an upgrade option to vista at a later stage.

    cheers ...
