This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    vista pre RC1 release

    just wondering if anyone else managed to get the pre rc 1 release of vista and what thoughts you have on it compared to the old beta 2 release :)

    personally i think its alot better than the beta2 version, less buggy and its a bit quicker (but i am using it on a different system to that observation isnt valid) and i think it looks quite nice :)

    thats after i completely f***ed my laptop up removing linux because i installed grub on the mbr and when i removed the linux partition it knackered things up :( it took about 4 or 5 hours for me to sort it :( (repartition, installed xp, set that up with all the drivers etc for the laptop, then installed vista which took so long i fell asleep during the install process lol)

    I just downloaded it yesterday with UseNext, but haven't installed it. l'm going to try to get around to testing it soon :)

    This version is a lot better than beta 2. At least it doesn't hog ram like crazy.
