i had problems before i did the reinstall.first i tried to update the graphics drivers and it wouldnt let me.by then i had already uninstalled the previous ones.i tried three diff times to install the drivers and visat wouldnt let me. so things on my display where huge.

so i thought i reinstall from a save point, but i didnt have one lol. so i then did the reinstall the whole thing.

the first time things would load, but then it would take ages to open something and it said windows explorer had an error and updating or something like that. every so often that would happen.

i just couldnt believe after this install that it was mega slow.there was nothing else i could think of doing so em now doing a second install.

anyone else had these problems after a reinstall. wot could it be

I'd say it's slow because of incompatible drivers.
One suggestion for the video card, in order to update the video driver with the one newer than that from the laptop manufacturer, You need to use the hacked .inf
If you have an NVidia video card, go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com to get the driver and the instruction on how to update the driver.
For other drivers, you need to either use the laptop manufacturer drivers, or the component manufacturers'.

well i dont know wot the problem was,but i did do a chkdsk and that took around 7 hours and then did a reinstall then things workt alot better.

but when i started it up a few times a message came up about clcapsrv module didnt load or something.so i had a look online that had to do with media or something.

so anyway its workn okay now,but there still is abit lag when i shutdown things and click on stuff. and i noticed that my vista score thing went down by one point 2.6>2.5.

is there a program out there that can check and install things that the computer needs, like registry files etc.should i go threw everything and update all the drivers,so maybe it wont lag the 3 or 4 secs when i click on stuff. it was never that slow before.
