Hi, I'm trying to give vista shadow copy 2gb's maximum of space to use
I have sp1
I have tried to use the command prompts commands from websites, but as soon as I enter them, the box closes
I need as close to exact commands as possible

yea how do u change how much space sys restore takes

I read pages on how, but the commands dont work for me on sp1 - they just close box

i said that didnt work
i took a video of what it said after clicking, and it said this
error: the specified volume shadow storage association was not found
here is what im trying to do
vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /Maxsize=3GB
my comp only has one storage its c:
i have shadow storage disabled atm, but i want it to set 3gb because on my old comp it kept turning back on -
thats the problem....enable it right now then do the cmd line.

What happens when you do
vssadmin list shadowstorage? -
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right-click on "Command Prompt" > Run as Administrator
Then type your commands:
vssadmin
vssadmin list shadowstorage
... -
lol. i would assumed if he "read" how to do it, that he ran it as admin. like it says to do
but ya that could very well be the problem lol.

faster way: press start orb>type 'cmd'>right click>run as admin> then do it -
Yes, you are seeing the "box go away" because you are typing the commands into the "Run" box, and they are not meant to be run this way. You need to open the command prompt as administrator first, as swarmer says here, then type the commands into that box. You will be able to see any errors and the "box" will not go away.
If you have shadow storage disabled, it will not work. Please post the answer to this question from pixelot:
