hello, does anyone know how to use this, i have been trying and nothing is happening. I have set up my microphone and it detects the sounds but i can't doing anything, if i say start to open the start menu it doesn't work and even when i goto wordpad or something nothing happens when i talk,

I have started it to listen, and it is always on.

    thanks

    edit: its just started working

    DUDE voice recognition is awesome

but you need to train the laptop to understand your voice.

I LOVE THE VOICE RECOGNITION, MOST HIGHLY UNDERRATED feature of Vista ever. if your reading this i swear you should try it out.

works especially awesome if you have a bluetooth headset :p awesomeness factor xxx100

I just start using speech recognition today. And this seems like it’s the best program that ever used. The only problem I have a speech recognition, is that I’m afraid it’s using too much of the system processes. But if someone can confirm to me that this does not use much memory speed off the computer I will keep using it.

PS I only use speech recognition to write all of this.

Now this is just me typing, It seems cool but I do feel like it may use more of my computer being on all the time or Even when listening Would this use more of the Battery ??????

check cntrl+alt+del and check the processes and see for yourself if its taking up alot or the most. you can leave it on stand by and say 'start listening' when you want to use your laptop.

Well maybe seech recognition is good in Egnlish - but in German is horrid.

I've tried it - the odd thing will work after much annoyance, and even then only randomly.

Maybe a proper microphone, apart form the one in the laptop screen would help (although people can understand me in, for example, ICQ)
However, that slightly defies the sense of a laptop if you have to carry two tons of equipment around...

The one I had (curtesy to a Medion laptop) yes.

But its also plugging in and these little things...

Maybe its useful for professional oÓffice use... but home use...
