    hi all,

Im not sure but i think that my vista start bar used to use the transparent glass feature that vista has and now it doesnt. The actual start bar when its up has the glass effect and so do all my windows when i open them but not the actual start bar, see below:

I also noticed now that when i try to change the theme of my vista, that only vista and classic are available, and im sure there used to be a vista aero one there. any ideas what may have happend here?

can't see much, but i do not think that u r losing anything

that is correct for xp and vista - classic and xp (or vista)

aero is a feature that goes along with normal vista theme - if ur system performance can afford. If not it will revert back to basic look until system resource is again available

    cheers ...

dell inspiron 6400, core duo 2 (2ghz), 1gb ram, 120gb hdd, ati x1400 256mb hypermemory, not sure on speeds of ram. i did a reboot and still no luck on the taskbars glass effect.

however i do remember when i installed azureus that vista told me the program didnt support the vista theme, and vista would revert back to normal when i had finished using it. but i uninstalled azureus and still no luck

oh guys/gals, i have figured out the problem. it appears that when i activate minimized windows media player and itunes mini player that the solid taskbar shows up, i unchecked them and hit apply and the glass effect is back.

    cheers
