sorry, I was thinking this post as a follow up to my last threads. I am having trouble getting Open Office to work sorry about confusion).
well, I read through the vista tweak sticky and got the open office link from there. I used the setup wizard and everything seemed to go smoothly. Until I tried to open Open Office. Here is the open office folders I found:
"Computer > Acer (C> Users > David > Desktop > OpenOffice.org2.3 Instillation Files"
I get the first link (bottom of post). I think that is the installation. If I go to
" Computer >Acer (C> Program Files > OpenOffice.org2.3"
I get the second link. Is this not the installed app, ready to go?

I am making another post instead of editing (again) to avoid confusion (mostly on my behalf).
I am new to windows Vista, I just got this computer a couple days ago. It has no office software, and instead off digging in the basement looking for MS office (I think I have it), I decided to give Open Office a try. I really want to use it, but I cant figure out how. I installed it via the wizard, and opened the Open Office folder in the Program files (see second link of previous post). Where do I go from there to open the new software? one of the readme files has the software requirements, but doesnt mention vista under operating systems. Do I have a wrong version? help? -
okay, in the start menu's search box type open office Do you see anything in the list (Writer, Impress, Calc, etc.) If so your ready to go, just click on one and get started, If not you may have not installed it correctly.
