    Hello!

Really weird things are happening with my laptop!

There are a lot of bugs and lags so I think I have some viruses or something..

    my laptop :
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel Core Duo CPU T7100 @ 1.80 GHz (2CPU)
    Geforce 8600m GS
    1024 MB RAM
    Fujitsu HDD 120 GB 5400
    __________________________________________________________________

I gave my laptop my sister for a week.. and thanks to her I don`t know what to do anymore..I can`t recognize my laptop anymore..

    1. My RAM fills up too quickly. After using laptop for some time everything starts to freeze. SVCHOST.EXE uses way too much memory..I have run MSCONFIG and disabled all the other stuff.. I have just my antivirus and just some small stuff running..That`s it..But my memory is filled up around 500-800 mb...even after restarting my laptop.. I tried to "END PROCESS" on SVCHOST.EXE..But I acquired this error message - it was something like that "system shutdown..nt authority system..windows must now restart because the remote procedure call (RPC)" , i guess it`s some really old virus or error?
-----------How can i get rid of it?------

    2. Next weird thing is when I go to control panel and click on windows firewall..I get this message "Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet connection sharing (ICS) service"
    ---------------------------------------------------------

By the way, I use Bitdefender Internet Security 2008 with their firewall ( i know it`s not a good combination to use antivirus and firewall into one..but I`m really OK with Bitdefender..I like it..
But when I try to scan my computer it just gets around 50% and the scanning window dissapears..It`s on Task manager but it`s not working anymore..
I tried to scan my laptop with Spyware Terminator..No threats found..

    3. The next weird thing just appeared.. I had default XP window theme ( best appearance) it just suddenly switched to the "best performance" theme and I can`t get it back...

    ____________________________________________________

Now I`m just frustrated I don`t know what to do..Antiviruses can`t detect any threats..But my laptop is still way too laggy and memory is already full..It`s sometimes even gets around 1GB , thats all I have..I won`t ever give
    my laptop to a women..

Boot into safe mode and perform a full spyware/adware/virus/trojan scan.

If this was my laptop, I would back up whatever files I could and reformat.

Ok, I know guys that the best thing to do is to make some backup and get my hdd formated and get a fresh windows afterwards..

I just wanted to know the best things what I can do without doing it..

I have disabled all the small software stuff ( from those I know what I can disable)

It`s around 400 mb usage when I`m running Firefox for a couple of minutes? Is it ok now? Here`s a picture of my task manager...

Do you guys see somethin unusual? Or is it OK now?

mdiction.exe is a trojan. Your system is definitely infected. As I said in my earlier post, you need to boot into safe mode and do a thorough scan. If you cannot remove the trojan, you need to back up whatever you can, reinstall, and then make sure you have a good anti-virus/anti-trojan/anti-malware running before you access that backup disk/drive again.

    no MDICTION.EXE is not a trojan.. I`m 100% sure..
MDICTION is sofware..I`m Latvian..It`s Latvian - English translator..
I`ve been using it for ages...

I already did full scan..All i found was some Fujack Worm..but theres not a big risk..i deleted it..it just copies some gamesetup.exes, that`s all

my system seems clean now :) thanks!
