Does anyone have the drivers for the western digital my book external hard drive? Or at least know someplace I can download them? WD requires you to register the product for some reason and mine wont.

You don't need any driver with Vista. Vista will load the driver when you plug it in.

There is no "what if it doesn't". Vista should load the driver, unless the hard drive is damaged.

Easy to overlook but I would imagine that you checked that the drive is plugged into an active electrical outlet and turned on. This particular drive is not USB powered. Is the drive within the enclosure running?

If the drive is running you might try turning off your security/antivirus software just to see if it blocking access. I doubt it, but easy enough to do.
