You'll need to install the Thinkpad UltraNav drivers on your notebook. My T60 didn't automatically receive them when installing Windows 7 (Build 7068). I just downloaded the Vista version from Lenovo's Web site. The trackpoint now works flawlessly. I would link you, but I dunno what model ya got.

mind sharing a quick link of the drivers?

That's for a T60 -- you may need to find a different link based on whether you're 32 or 64 bit. The UltraNav driver is what you'll need. -
downloaded the ultranav driver for vista 64-bit ( http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70439#mouse)
and I still don't see the option for settings for my trackpoint (ultranav) on control panel - mouse -
Did you download the utility?
I think you need to pull that down if you want to mess with the settings. I love the defaults, so I don't bother adding unnecessary software to clutter up the computer.
