i wanna know are there any accessibility, power management, hard disk defrag, security and passwork processing enhancement ?

out of curiosity, any method to stave off date theft after the laptop has been lost?

    Thanks

Sorry, don't know too much about the things you listed, but I'll tell you other things about Vista and notebooks

I know that Vista Ultimate and the business editions will have hard drive encryption, but that's pretty standard already.

One thing I know of is Windows Sideshow, where there's a mini screen on the bottom or lid of your notebook that you can use to display mini things, like battery, time, emails, or even use to scan credit cards. Not many notebooks have even been announced with that technology though yet.

    Vista has:
    1. an advance power management, in fact you don't need anymore NHC or ePower, as the one that comes with Vista is even more advanced than NHC, and you can create/change profiles.
    2. There is a full disk encryption (different from the one of XP)
    3. What do you mean by Accessibility?
    4. Security speaking Vista is much more complicated, even if you have an account belong to "Administrators", will not have full access as in XP, and time to time UAC will ask permissions to elevate some tasks to higher levels..

Overall vista is a great improvement, and doesn't slow down compared to XP...

    1. NHC is free.
    2. Thats if you have some very very important files you don't want any one else to see. Not a lot of people actually need that.

u need to be much more specific in the area u r looking at - accessibility to what per example.
Overall Vista offers a wider range of services/functionalities than XP, but be prepared for a small learning curve as far as navigating around vista since the whole menu is being worked/moved and grouped around
Vista has some improvements in the power management so that u would not need a 3rd party software (NHC, AMDPowerNow ...) to manage the power scheme, other than that my laptop sees no difference in gain/loss in battey life when running vista vs xp

what data r u looking at?
. just personal files? how about save them all on an external drive/stick
. system passwords? how about NOT to save them on ur machine, del TEMP when closing browser or clear up all caches upon existing windows can do some good

    cheers ...
