I mean, the software can intelligently scroll down the web page and capture everything from top to the bottom, yes the image will be very "long" but I don't mind.

Is there any such software? Freeware?

Try pdfFactory. I find it usually does a good job of turning a long web page into a PDF file. It has a preview stage before writing the PDF file which is useful for making it easy to delete any unwanted pages. There is a free version which puts a footer at the bottom of each page.

That only captures what is on the screen (and Alt-PrtSc captures only the active window). The question is how to get a copy of a long web page which takes more than one screen (and many do). PrtSc also turns all the text into graphics.

Creating a PDF file is one option but how good depends on the PDF creator software and how the web page is coded. It's often necessary to try several different ways of creating a PDF file and seeing which works best for the particular web page. Another option which might work is Ctrl-A (select everything), Ctrl-C (copy) and then paste into Word.

Thanks for that. I've been a Firefox user for some years but wasn't aware of that feature.

AFAIK no there is no free software that can do all that. SnagIT is the only program I have right now but it isn't free and can do alot of what your asking but it cost to use it. If you want something that will do what your asking that doesn't come free here. There is a cost to having a program do what you want and more.

FastStone Capture does this which I use all the time, you click on an area on the page and it starts scrolling automatically till the end to capture the whole thing. Then you can easily edit it or just save. It's not free though but worth every penny.
