It shows what programs, processes, and services are running, along with a general view of how much RAM and CPU all of it is using in tandem; also useful for forcing things to turn off.

On Saturday nights though, it's a party your computer calls all of its parts to and have a time to relax in, or go crazy; depends on what happened during the week...

Why don't you just type "Task Manager" in your Windows Help and Support (hit F1 when on the desktop)?

RTFMing is a lost art, Pirx. Sometimes I think your avatar represents my frustration quite well.

 Yeah, I know... Same with kids googling stuff or going to Wikipedia to do their homework, rather than reading the bloody textbook they have right in front of themselves.

OK I will pile on also, Pirx, I thought it was malware, I deleted it from my system. I also got rid of DRWATSON on my Vista machine to save space.
Is it true if you remove all windows updates from any version of windows it will speed up your system?

Does anyone have a download link for School Shooter for PC playable demo? I can not wait to pre-order the full version !

Attention Lurkers I am kidding about all of the above.

Alright, way to go! Did you know that there's this executable, Explorer.exe, in C:\Windows, that takes up almost 3MB of space? Delete that too, and your system will be so much faster. :mask: It's a little tough to get rid of, but I can show you how to do it by starting from a Rescue Disk. Make sure you don't loose that Rescue Disk, though... ;)

Absolutely. As a matter of fact, if you delete the OS entirely, and boot MS-DOS from a flash memory stick, you'll have all of that disk space pristine and empty, and your system will really fly!

please, keep in mind our good friend Pirx forgot to use [/sarcarsm] tags there. Don't go actually deleting explorer.exe and your entire OS. Please. :)

No it is not. OS updates are meant to make your system work better. They fix bugs and make improvements. They area a good thing.

See that's what I like about Linux. You order it to self-destruct by deleting *everything*, it obeys. It doesn't haggle with you like Windows does. It just shrugs and then nukes itself.

What is windows task manager? Basically, it is a built-in utility tool in your computer. It can end programs that have stopped responding as well as allow the user to see other users connected to his computer.
