I want a pony, and a pot of gold, and a boat.

Unfortunately, there's not much freeware for burning DVD's, especially with DVD menus and such like you want. The best freeware program I've ever used to burn DVD's or CD's is k3b, but you'd have to use Linux for that ;) And even then, it doesn't have much to do for DVD menus and the like, nor does it transcode avi's (which can be of multiple different encodings) into mpeg2 so that a DVD player could play it.

as for burning software, i recommend burnatonce

Not sure about freeware dvd authoring, though.

Roxio seems to work just fine for me. Although you may need to upgrade (pay) for the extra good stuff, Roxio does a good job of duplicating, burning music, pictures etc.

Google it or search for it on download.com

AFAIK Roxio is not free. Sometimes you get a basic version of Roxio bundled with your CD/DVD burner but that doesn’t mean it is free (you already paid for it when you bought the burner)

Yeah I know its not free. The bundled version just gives you the simple options like duplicating, burning. You gotta upgrade(pay) if you want other features.

Contact Acer and see if they offer downloads of the software, or will ship you a CD with it.

I don't believe there are any freeware DVD authoring tools that provide that and the only one I've used that cost money is ConvertXtoDVD which is a godsend.

I'd also recommend DeepBurner for a freeware CD burning program.
