ie8 was designed for win7
chrome is already win7 friendly
when is firefox going to do the same?
-
You mean like incorporate jump lists?
-
-
well, sure win7 isn't officially released yet, but google managed to do it
anyway, i'm hopeful and almost certain that they'd be able to do so before win7 goes out to the public -
-
jump-list support i guess
tried winfox, still buggy and still not as good as native support for them
as for per-tab preview, i guess that's only going to be possible when firefox implements multi-process architecture like ie8 and chrome -
It's already in the works, I believe jump lists are in the nightly builds already.

Why not just use IE8 ATM and when FF is "windows 7 compatible", switch back.
There are alternatives for flashblock, adblock, noscript, greesemoneky and almost all popular plugin for IE8. The only IE8 lacks is the ability to fully customize the UI. -
haha i even "uninstalled" ie8 (since trident is still present in windows 7 even without ie8 and thus ietab still works)
i'll just wait for such an update to come
the question posted here was more of a musing than a rant. -
What exactly is so wrong/bad with FF in Windows 7? I'm using right now but I'm not noticing anything horrible about it....
Is it missing features or something? -
-
jumplist, per-tab aero peek preview
both available now for ie8 and chrome
oops did not see post by crash -
Haha no worries. I wonder if Mozilla will wait for their next major release to include these features or if they'll release it in an incremental update.
-
well, i don't think its wise for mozilla not to release an update to firefox that would put it on par with chrome or even ie8 on this front especially that oct 22 will be approaching fast; after all, the browser wars is raging on and they need all the weapons they could possibly put.
though i'm not hopeful for the multitab preview since i think that's reliant on firefox being coded to run on multiple processes, like ie8 and chrome are already (at least that's how i see it at the moment, correct me if i'm wrong)
btw another feature they should implement is the download status progressbar on the taskbar the same way that explorer does so.
when will they make firefox windows 7 friendly?
