Should be under the "Connect To" menu in the Start menu.

In your taskbar, you should be able to see a little computer icon on it with a red X (or not a red X if you were already connected to a network) right click on that icon, then click Network and Sharing Center, then click Manage Network Connections, that's your you'll find your local area connections.

Check your BIOS and make sure your NIC isn't disabled. Next, boot into Windows, then check your system settings and make sure the NIC isn't disabled.

It's very possible that the NIC has been disable in your BIOS. When you enable it, Windows should automatically install the driver and your NIC should show up in your Network and Sharing Center.

In that case, go to Control Panel > Network & Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Network Connections. You should see it there.

If not, you can check the BIOS as mentioned, and also check in Device Manager to make sure it's not disabled there.

Yeah what is that 1394 connection and why is it connected all the time and can it be disconnected. It's my friends computer and we were setting up to connect to the net using his cell phone and saw that saying connected. Will it slow down downloads if you only connect at 300kb/s.
