    it's temp folder?

firefox has better solutions: video downloader or how's that extension called? so you can directly save all flv you want, youtube and all other video sites.

    an even better solution: http://keepvid.com/

tell keepvid which youtube, daily motion, etc video you want, and it will download it for you. OS and browser independent

just don't watch the video. youtube and others don't stream the video twice in parallel to the same ip. start the download, and browse away from the video. then it downloads immediately.

I don't use vlc, but I installed .. Vista Codec Pack i think, and all flv i have play very well in Media Center, Media Player, Media Player Classic, and even have Previews in Explorer.

maybe you miss a proper codec?

You should try K-Lite Mega Codec Pack - it's the best codec pack for every windows out there.

BTW, for downloading *flv's from YouTube I've always used kissyoutube. For example if the video link is "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=*insert cool vid here*" you just add "kiss" in front of "youtube" and the link should look like this "http://www.kissyoutube.com/watch?v=*insert cool vid here*". Try it!

Cool thing: you don't need any extensions/programs or whatever - it's a site.
    Bad thing: you need Java.

bad thing: it's a webservice so you can't rely on it being available. the extension stays on your system, even when it one day would be forced to be taken down.

i hate webservices with a passion yes, they take away my liberties :)

    Man,

Just download GOM player. It's free looks great and works perfect. Then you don't have to mess around with codec packs which can sometimes be a mixed bag.

    www.gomlab.com/eng/GMP_download.html

I don't even use media player anymore cause I like GOM player so much.
