    where is the recycle bin located

    i deleted the desktop shortcut and now can't access the recycle bin. where on the hard drive is it actually located?

    Usually on c:\recycled though it can be relocated. It is usually a hidden folder.

    It should be on your C drive, Folders > Desktop.

    At least that's where mine is.

    "Too much clutter" :D

    The recycle bin never actually deletes (er... recycles?) itself, it's just the desktop item. It's always sitting there in C:\recycled or C:\recycler depending on your OS version.

    It's what pixelot said for Vista. It's c:\recycled for XP/2K. My bad. :D

    And that guide linked above is the right way to get it back anyway, making a shortcut won't do.
