which one did you have?
i just bought the 2007 home and student edition. they put banner/title that says "non-commercial use" this really annoys me!
really clutered the alt-tab and taskbar title.![]()
-
Hm... What's the purpose of this? Anyway I owned the Home and Student edition of Microsoft Office 07 because that's all I need and it will not rip me off
.
-
I got Ultimate one from the Windows Feedback program
-
Ultimate. Thanks to microsoft's Ultimate Steal program.
-
i got home and student because i'm a student LOL
-
Ultimate, for the wife and kid thru The Ultimate Steal
-
Home and Student, because at the time it was the best deal ($50 per license). Then the Ultimate Steal came around. Probably a better overall deal at $60 per license and all the extra programs, so I probably would have gone with that. But it's not like I've ever used Office outside of what Home and Student included, anyway, so the $10 saved might be better off anyway.
I'm trying Open Office in Win7, and although it's not bad I still like Word/Excel better - they just seem more polished. And ironically, Word seems to do better with display of .docx documents, which it says it the Open Office XML Template. Since I can keep using Office with no further cost, I probably will. -
A free legal disk of office 2007 enterprise for me.
-
Enterprise here, though it is overkill for a student, haha.
-
I got the standard edition, but wished it came with Microsoft One Note 2007. That isn't bad, since my dad's laptop came with a free copy of Microsoft One Note 2003 which is practically the same.
-
I have Home and Student and Outlook separately - was the best option at the time.
-
Office 2k7 Enterprise
(and as nizzy said, it's legal)
-
well i voted according to the title. I "did" have the student version of office 07. but "now" i use OpenOffice on my recently reformatted desk.
-
Office Enterprise Blue Edition.
-
Got the ultimate edition, courtesy to Microsoft's "The Ultimate Steal".
-
Is there an upgrade path from Standard to Ultimate?
-
I have Office Ultimate 2007, courtesy of TheUltimateSteal: http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx
Yes, but it's pricey: http://store.microsoft.com/microsoft/Office-Ultimate-2007-Upgrade/product/11BB987B -
I never knew about this promo. I got lucky and got the Office suite from my dad's company (hence the Enterprise version) but that Ultimate promo for students is really a steal!
-
Yea, it's really great. I got Office 2007 Ultimate almost 2 years ago when this promo first started. One of the best deals ever
-
It doesn't really bother me, but I do wonder why it says "non-commercial use"...
-
I have MS Office Professional
Cin
-
Got my Ultimate for free.
-
Nice, thru school?
Cin
-
Home & Student....I love how it looks and performs for the most part..
NOT at all pleased though with the frequent crashes that occur after I exit out of a document. -
That is strange.
Would you mind opening a thread on it - with details, so, OS what type of documents.
Mine is stable. -
No, I wish.
I got it through the Windows Customer Feedback program or whatever it's called. -
I use Corel WordPerfect. It's the only program so far that I've found worth buying. Oh yeah, and I use OpenOffice.org when I want to practice my MS Office skillz. :GEEK:
-
does the Ultimate Steal also comes with the non-commercial banner? does the profesional academic version also comes with it?
anyone actually annoyed by that non commercial banner as much as i do
?
-
The Ultimate Steal "version" does NOT have that banner. It's a fully functional standard copy of Office Ultimate. See attachment.

Got Office 2003 Professional running on my old XP machine. And Office 2007 Standard on my Vista machine. I really like 2007 and I would have dropped 2003 but 2007 ran like a dog on my old hardware.

I use "Home and student" as I am a student and it is just perfect and complete for me.
-
I have Enterprise 2007 that I got through MS home use program from work. Cost about $22 for disc/shipping.
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
I use Office Enterprise 2007 on my EEE and Professional 2003 on the Inspiron 9100.
-
Home and Student, and YES!!! I'm really annoyed by it
--- but since there's apparently nothing we can do about it, I just try not to look at it. Is the Ultimate Steal still available? If so, how do we get more information on the current offer?
-
Technet and MSDN here, and i use Ultimate. Has stuff we need for work, etc.
-
I use Office 2000 Professional.
Word is word what's the point of paying for a new ver number every few years.
Besides the menu bars in office 2007 suck -
Not until you get used to them. Then you realize that the menu bar in Office 2000/2003 sucks
-
lol true that. To the person above above, try using office 2007 for a month. You'll love it.
-
Courtesy of work, i have a free legit copy of office 2007 enterprise. also have project, accounting and visio pro 2007 on here, legit.
all freebies.

hey, as a heads up, if you use excel a lot, try ASAP utilities addon for excel it is WONDERFUL, AND FREE!
ev -
Same... hooray vista launch something or another that i got this for free at!
-
Another excellent add-on is Microsoft's Office Labs Search Commands. It comes in handy if your just moving over to Office 07, or if you just can't figure out where a command is in the Ribbon UI.

.docx files are Office Open XML files which were developed by Microsoft for MS Office 2007: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_Open_XML
OpenOffice.org uses the OpenDocument format.
The names are stupidly confusing though.
I use OpenOffice since I can't afford MS Office
-
I use Enterprise, got it through my company's "Home Use" program.
-
Ultimate, through the It's Not Cheating program. At $75 AUD, it's great value if you're a student, and more importantly, doesn't have 'non-commercial use' in the title.
(I must admit I was pretty amused by the complaint in your initial post when I first read it at Whirlpool.) -
Thanks very much for the link crash. But sadly, I'm not a student, so I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for an upgrade from MS Office Home and Student, at a bargain price.
-
Only the best ...
Enterprise yeah -
ah guilty of double crossing forum
repped you for the trouble
-
I totally agree. I favor Office 2007's menu system much better, as I can now find all the tools to edit stuff much easier. They become time-savers very quickly.
Edit: Oh goodie, thought I was the only Office Standard user here...
which MS office 2007 did you have?
