hello guys..i normally always used the k-lite-codec pack with the mpc (and also had vlc installed for some dvd´s). Will this work for win7 too? or is there already better codec pack?
thanks![]()

I use CCCP + CoreAVC, but it's really a matter of personal preference. If k-lite's working fine for you, I don't see any reason why you should switch.
*Waits for some video encoding enthusiast to come in and say that all codec packs are inferior and everyone should just configure individual codecs by themselves* -
Yep. K-Lite is doing fine, no need to mess around with it.
cheers ... -
I usually use Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) with MPC. Never failed me so I never found a reason to switch from this.

+1 for CCCP with MPC. Just installed in win 7 pro, and it works great.

I use Shark007's codec pack, available in x86 and x64 variants
Found here -
second shark's,does not interfere with built-in ms codecs that are hw-accelerated.
-
I use XP Codec pack.
-
still go back to klite here always end up back with it
-
that sharkpack sounds good.. but i never heard of it before so i´m not sure
however installed k-lite mega with mpc as it always worked for me.. and vlc for some dvd´s -
ffdshow, Haali and MPC-HC manually installed here.

If you can get away with it, I HIGHLY recommend NOT installing any codec packs on Windows 7. This is the first version of Windows where Microsoft finally got a clue and bundled many codecs with the OSsuch as H.264, AAC, DivX, XviD and others.

Codec packs suck, all they do is create media comparability problems, especially when you start installing/uninstalling them, I much prefer to use and recommend using a self contained, universal codec media player such as VLC or MPC.
which codec pack?
