I'm going to build a comp this sep for uni, I'm doing maths so I'm not considering a laptop, imagine taking maths notes with laptop  .

So, I'll be buying an OEM edition of vista home basic/premium.
Is there alot more functionalities that home premium offer OTHER than the fancy aero thing? Are those extra features if any easily replacable by other programs?
I never really needed eye candy like that, so if that's the case, I would go for home basic.
I always use windows clasic theme on xp. probably turn off aero first thing I do if I did buy home premium.
    Thanks in advance!

You could take match notes with a notebook, you would just need to get a touchscreen with some hand writing recognition software. Based off what you said, i would say you should go for hone basic, but you might like xp more so if you can, go for that.

Why not just get xp? Home basic is useless in my opinion. If you can get a copy of xp get it, you will be better off.

Check Circuit City, Staples they sell Tablet PC's. I never paid attention to the price but you might find a better deal than going with a DeLL.

Is that the device that allows you to attach it to a laptop so you can write and save it to disk?

I don't think hurling around a laptop and a tablet will be alot easier than just using a notebook. so I don't have to use a pen, nice, but I still have to write don't I. :)
