I'm a computer noob so I'm not doing a clean install of vista. I'm doing it manually. Which of these should I use?

    pcdecrapifier
    ccleaner
    revouninstaller

    Thanks!

I use ccleaner for cleaning my system and revo uninstaller for uninstalling. Revo has the best uninstall feautures in my opinion. Hunter mode is very good.

So what exactly do these uninstaller programs do for you? How are they different than the control panel's uninstalling?

    Thanks for info.

They clean out the registry of remaining files, and just do a more thorough uninstall that add/remove programs.

Ok, thanks for the replies. So I don't need pcdecrapifier then?

Also, this is off topic, but what program should I use to monitor temps? HWmonitor? Or something else? Riva tuner? PCmark?

HWmonitor is used by most, and is very easy to use. CCleaner is pretty much the same as pcdecrapifier, IIRC.

Personally, I use CCleaner for cleaning up the registry and deleting temp files, and I use revo for uninstalling programs. I've never used decrapifier, so I don't know what to tell you there.

That's how I do it to. I also use Ccleaner for managing my startup processes. The 'disable' function is really nice.

I've read some reviews saying (and proving) Revo is the best uninstaller.

I switch between windows software add/removal and cCleaner. They do just a perfect job, unless the app/software was shoddily written and packaged with a bad installer from the start.

    cheers ...
