i am thinking about win8 upgrade (from win7) on my dell m 6600.
if i buy this so called "upgrade pack" i will have a key.

the oem activation on m6600 has a slick in bios+sertificat and a key.

and now i trying to understand how wi8 actiwating.
will it just use my current slick with a new key?
    will it be oem activation?
how reactivation will work? (on wi 7 it was simple using sert+key)
will upgrade key working with rtm wi8 version? (if i will upgrading i thinking about clean install=)

First off you should ask what benefits are you going to get for going to W8?
Second is W7 so bad that you can't use it anymore?
Third you need to have a clean working computer to upgrade to W8 if you had problems with W7 you first should reboot back to working image before upgrading to W8 should problems appear you can diagnosis it faster.
Fourth is the cost going to improve your botton line?
Fifth you need to make sure there are drivers for W8 for your laptop as well before upgrading as W7 drivers may not work in W8 and make sure the upgrade will support your laptop as well.

Dell M6600 is only 2nd gen intel so its slic is only 2.1 most likely or win 7, it will not work on win8. Any upgrade pack then is not OEM and will either be a retail full install or upgrade key. So again not OEM or activation you will have to pay for the key..................

My suggestion is to install your software and try to use it as is for 3 weeks or so. Once you have decided what you do or do not like then make changes. Give yourself a chance to get used to it. A definite UI change for sure. If you do not already have experience with Win8 be sure to have a path back to Win7.

Win8 OEM Activation = unique key embedded in BIOS. Install discs are made to detect that automatically and auto-activate when key is present (and there's internet connection). When motherboard is replaced, a new key has to be embedded.

No more OEM offline activation like in Win7.

The upgrade pack is technically a retail package. One key, activated over internet.
