i noticed that when i click on start > turn off computer..., i get this pop out window with options such as restart, hibernate, stand by and turn off. But no Shut down??
when i place my mouse cursor to the turn off button, it pops out this lil information box that it shuts down windows so you can safely turn off the computer but my computer just turns it off by itself after clicking that button.
anyway, isn't there supossed to be a shut down for it?
because i'm starting to wonder if this "turn off" is the thing that's affecting my laptop battery drain even when the computer is turned off (15% a day).![]()

LOL... what? Start> turn off computer>turn off (with windows saying it's safe to shut down (turn off) windows...) or >restart etc.
-
... Turn off and shut down are the same thing...
-
You are thinking too hard about this... lol.
Turn off and Shut down are the same thing in function. -
lol okay.. maybe i'm thinking too much but cuz i remember having seen xp with "shut down" instead of "turn off".
because from that information box about "turn off", it appears to me that the windows shuts down and then you have to turn off your computer (power switch) manually meaning that windows might still keep the power on unless you turn off the switch yourself. -

they're the same. it says 'shut down' if you use the classic shutdown dialog. see mine:
