hi, i have problems starting up xp....

the windows xp logo starts up, with the load bar, then afterwards the screen goes blank and it restarts the computer.

I could get into the hp recovery, did a recovery and tried again but the screen is still going blank and the computer is still restarting.

The diagnostics said it was something wrong with harddrive... anyhelp?

    thanks.

Search, download, and burn Hirens BootCD and do the hdd diagnostics. It may be the ram as well, so run those tests. The bootcd will not need windows to do these tests.
