So, ive been doing some looking, bought a new hd. im trying to get my recovery image and the actual OS part of the hard drive swapped to my new one, Essentially i want thew recovery partition and the Os partition on the new drive. what can i use to accomplish this?

Clonezilla will do this for free as will other software like EaseUS todo backup and Paragon.

Clonezilla will create an exact clone of the HDD keep in mind. So if you upgrade from a 250GB to a 750GB you will have 500GB of unallocated space. You can expand the drive in Disk Management later on.
The Acronis True Image Home software or Acronis Migrate Easy tool does this functionality as well, but it expands the unallocated space for you. It costs money but the trial is fully functional from the last time I used it. Might want to check again. If not, clonezilla is your best free option. -
What brand of drives you are using?
Quite a few manufacturers provide some sort of cloning software in their websites, could be worth checking. -

Yes. Both Seagate's DiskWizard and Western Digital's software are actually Acronis software in disguise.
