Computer > System Properties > Advanced system settings > Advanced Tab > Performance Settings button > Uncheck "Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing".

Although, its maybe 100ms difference on a fast computer.

I hate the Jerky window animation in Win 7 (Vista was better), so disabled it. I don't think that you can make it faster.

As far as I know, you can't make the animation faster.. though there is a way to make the taskbar preview (aero peek) faster or slower... I wonder if there is a similar workaround for the animation..

there are delay settings for the various Aero graphics effects.

And they're buried pretty deeply in the registry.

A web search should find the ones you're interested in.

As with all things registry, be careful out there.

What I get for posting on my phone

I'm not sure if there's any real way to make it faster because any faster would really just disable the animation altogether, wouldn't it? Or it would be fast enough to the point where you don't even see it.

Mmm.... Might try disabling it too...

Update. I like it much better. Feels much snappier. And i got a good 1000$ desktop, so it's still worth to try.
