Many years ago I remember some computer enthusiasts said to me that in windows 95 or windows 98 e.g A tech geek could modify the windows setting or BIOS by themselves about the hardware details. That's said, for example, you are actually physically having only an intel i3 CPU with 4GB RAM but in the BIOS screen or windows control panel it showed to the user that the system is an intel i7 CPU with 8GB RAM.

    Is it still possible nowadays??
I am not asking about how to do it. I am just asking about the possibility.
