My computer needs to be restored. I just want to install 2k pro again but i dont have a cd. I have the valid 2k sticker on my pc. What to do?

if you don't have the cd you could either buy a replacement cd from your manufacturer, or if your laptop's too old, the only other thing you could do is download a w2k torrent, burn it to a cd, and then use that with the code on your license. This isn't exactly strictly legal but since you're using your own genuine license key, I don't think m$ would mind

I don't recommend a torrent, as it could come with a virus preinstalled for you.
Ebay might be a good choice if you can afford it. -
yeah copies would be going for dirt cheap on ebay ( although this would still be more expensive than a torrent)

those wondeful chinese made illegal copies of software for sale on Ebay often have much worse stuff than the wost torrent IMO...

I agree that getting the CD from the manufacturer is the smartest move. HP still offers recovery disks for my old PC that used to run Win 98, so I would expect that Dell or Gateway would do the same esp. since Windows 2000 is most likely on a business system.

I have a compaq evo n600c. I dont know if the offer a restore cd and i dont know how much it would cost.

Interestingly enough, they don't show Win 2000 as a OS choice for ordering recovery disks for your computer, only Win 98, or XP Home or Pro
Call HP and ask: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact_us.html
