This is a weird problem i havent experienced before ever with W7.
Basically at random, the aero display will stop working, like my customized black window colour would just go back to blue and there would be no aero peek etc.

Does anyone know what can cause this? Every time i have to search for the "fix issues with display effects" (or something similar) in order to fix this problem.

Running any full screen applications or other demanding software?

It could be display drivers - my friend's Aspire 6930G was unable to use Aero at all until he installed display drivers on his clean install.

Well the last time it happened was when i was playing Blur in windowed mode, but i dont get why it would just stop working randomly as I have played the game several times without any issues to aero.

    Also im on catalyst 10.6.

Aero uses some power to get working, and Windows can choose to turn it off when running games, if it deems that Aero is using too many resources. I had that happen on my M15x. You can just turn it on again.

Check Windows logs, aero on/off should be mentioned there. Perhaps following some kind of error message. If you find that, it's one step closer to the solution.
