    hi folks where can i get the drivers for windows 7 for the VAIO VGN-FZ38M laptop? when i installed win7 professional rtm, it picked up the video card as a generic vga one,

    Using the drivers for Vista should be fine and the first place to check is your laptop's manufacturer's website and the the card's manufacturer's website.

    thats great thanks for that, how do i install the applications such as windvd
    BD?
    i tried downloading the applications from the web but they are updates and wont install..

    For Sony bundled apps, you will have almost no chance to install them from scratch. Just look for some other alternative free media player like VLC.

    Install applications from the recovery DVD or the hidden recovery partition.
