    windows 7 start menu question

    is it possiable to make the start menu to look like the class menu on xp or am i stuck with what i have ?

    true its better but wha t i hate is having to do more clicks to get to where i want to go its faster to get to shutdown thats the only thing i like so far on this laptop

    Taskbar and Start Menu Properties > Start Menu > Power Button Action > Shut Down

    the shutdown is set that way i might check out that other link though not sure as of yet if i will or not. has anyone used norton antivirus with windows 7 yet and noticed any slow down of it?

    I've used it long enough (Norton) to uninstall it.

    Highly recommend some common sense (don't click 'Yes' on everything and don't go everywhere on the 'net ;) ) and use Microsoft Security Essentials (for free).

    For the start menu, type in the first few letters of what you want and click as it appears above - I don't 'browse' the Start menu unless I'm bored.

    I pin the majority of my main apps to the taskbar. In this way I rarely need the start menu. My primary tool(s) shortcuts are in a folder on the desktop so easy access there as well.........

    Of course, pin the apps... but if you have many apps you need quick one click access to:

    I recommend RocketDock. :)
