    windows 7 stop responding after i leave it for about 1 hour

    After installing windows 7 professional , i started to notice that after i leave the laptop for 1 hour or maybe less untoched , the windows stops responding , here is the list of what i installed , please tell me which programs are fine with windows 7 .
    - matlab 2008
    - msn messenger
    - office 2007
    - kaspersky
    - msn plus final version
    - win rar
    i am nearly sure its not from drivers as i asked some one here on the forums and he confirmed that he installed the windows 7 with the same drivers and he experience no problems , please help me

    Check your power settings, see when it's set to hibernate or go to sleep. It is entirely possible that it's due to drivers, especially since it happens "untouched". The only thing that might be causing the system pause in the list you posted is Kaspersky. But I'd look at your chipset and display drivers as culprits first.
