I know it has bit locker over the professional, which has other media and connectivity advantages above home premium, but apart from needing the best, is there it worth it to get windows 7 ultimate?

Honestly, no. At least not for the price. Home Premium is for home use and it works just fine. If you need better networking, get Business. Ultimate is really only Home Premium and Business combined with a few added features.

I wouldn't get it either honestly. Even MS themselves are mostly advertising Home Premium and Professional. The added features of Ultimate IMO aren't justified by its higher price tag.

Either get Home Premium for home use or get Professional(or Enterprise) for businesses.

Bitlocker and Multilanguage UI are the only two difference between ultimate and professional. There's no other multimedia advantage whatsoever.

And there are (arguably better) alternatives to bitlocker, so I'd say no too.

my wife is chinese, and i got professional as the only way we can have english and chinese on the same computers. it is nice though, as when i login i get english, and when she logs in she gets chinese.
i have since found a program called vistalizator to change language for any version http://www.froggie.sk/index.html

Professional & Ultimate support access (joining the system to the domain) to Windows domains.

For some this is an absolute requirement.

    Cheers,

imo premium or pro is more than the normal user needs. if you want to drop the cash get ultimate.
