I have a Windows Vista ultimate on a IBM ThinkPad T61 14 inch Wide screen. With 2GB Ram, 100GB 7200RPM HDD, 1GB Intel Turbo Memory and Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.4GHZ. I want to upgrade to XP Pro because it will run faster (I think). But my question is can XP PRO take advantage of my computers features? Like the dual cores? Faster?

    Thanks

Yes, XP will take advantage of a dual core setup but the 2GB of RAM will not be put to as good use in XP as Vista since XP doesn't have features like SuperFetch.

Gophn I believe this is id kind of done by default right now. Friends with XP & Santa Rosa have confirmed that both cores have the same CPU usage.

XP won't be able to use your Turbo Memory.

By the way, there are a few performance-related hotfixes out for Vista you might be interested in.

I think it will be better to stick with Vista on new CPUs.
