I was just reading a thread in the Dell section and remembered that Microsoft said that the top score of 5.9 could be expanded past that as technology gets better. But since Vista is supposed to be gone by 2011, does that mean it will be around in Windows 7, or will after Nehalem (early 2009) and Westmere (late 2009) it will go away?

I pray to god every day that it'll go away. That way, I can stop answering questions about this useless POS.

I'd say the 5.9 can be beaten right now. My desktop gets a 5.8 and the bottleneck by far is a stock-clocked C2D at 1.83ghz.
Not sure when they're going to adjust the benchmark numbers though. Plus, with so much speculation on "Windows 7", who knows what it will be like, and whether Vista will still be around. I believe WEI will stick around for that though. -
Does it matter?
