neat little program.. or rather a compilation of different system files/applications etc...
I'm running a 5 year old dell computer right now, and it doesn't bog down my computer at all. in fact, it feels like it runs more smoothly.
very stable in my opinion, and better user interface (in my opinion)
easy to uninstall if you want. or you can just uninstall/add certain components
flyakite lets you choose exactly what components you want to install on your computer. Heres my config
wallpaper, mouse, sound, winroll, yzshadow, icolorfolder
and downloaded these two seperately
RK launcher- (use the nightly build. stable now, after ubg fixes from latest beta)
visual style- (brushed theme) http://www.deviantart.com/view/2779753/
and you need the neowin uxtheme multi patcher to use the visual style.
and... tada!

Thats a VERY VERY kool ONLINE Mac desktop. It even has a music loaded I-tunes
I don't have a MAC or have much experience with newer verisons, so it's nice to play around with this.
Just realize you can download this -
Ok, I just downloaded it on my Acer 5102 xp media 2gb ram.
Very Nice, don't know if I will leave it on my pc being that programs run a bit slower.
Only problem is it booted a little slower and everytime I boot a window and the task keeps telling me "updates have will be installed after next reboot".
VERY NICE THO & FREE. -
hmm.. the only significant ram usage is the RK launcher. Which uses memory something similar to MS word.
And I only found one other instance similar to yours.
"When I reboot my computer, it says that x amount of files have been updated and they will be in effect on the next reboot. I get this message everytime."
from aquasoft forum. There was no followup on it, so I don't know if he resolved it or not.
yeah well.. I hope you can fix it. If not, then well, you can uninstall it. -
To turn off the auto-update go to the 'User Options' and uncheck the System Files Updater. If that doesn't work, manually stop it using msconfig.

Okay, I haven't modded my Windows desktop in a while, but this inspired me to return to the old days and give it a shot. First, I downloaded flyakite OS. This changed most of the UI and icons and even the Windows explorer to certain extent (such as buttons, etc). Then, I downloaded RKLauncher. This is a very nice app and mimicks the OS X dock very nicely, even allowing you to minimize applications into the dock. Very nice, if not a bit slow... but it is still in beta. Then, deciding that I still didn't like the fact that the buttons on the right of the window (just a sure fire reminder that I'm still using Windows), I decided to go ahead and install WindowBlinds 5. This allows you to have the buttons (close, min, max) on the left as well as change the explorer buttons to truly reflect an OS X style. I am currently using "OS X Tiger V" as the theme. Right now, this is what I have (see attachment). I hope to get the taskbar running at some point. Right now, I don't have ObjectBar, which is the best utility to do this. But I am overall very pleased. Even the Windows XP splash screen has been replaced with the gray OS X screen with the Apple, and the logon screen says OS X. Nice.

hey nice setup 'notebook ftw'. I was wondering myself how to get those mac style buttons (instead of the windows ones on the top right -close min, max-). Anyways, i didnt keep flyakite installed, it felt like my system got alot slower.
It's still nice to play around with tho for a mac experience. -
looks really nice. very professional appearance.

What I really like about the OS X is how clean it looks. It's nice and sparkly, but not cluttered. Much better than Windows. That's why I get rid of everything except the Recycle bin in Windows. I will say this though... I plan on reformatting again at some point here in the next few months, at which point I may or may not bring this back to life. It just depends. -
i have been using flyakite since v2 and it is the most stable mac skin/theme i ever experienced. & it is neither a resource hog nor would it make ur system slower
currently i m playing with vistaRC1 in another partition. I am able to adapt Finderbar, WinRoll and RKLauncher into vista and just love it. The transparency and the shadow r being handled within vista aero theme, so save me the yZShadow
cheers ... -
