I have an alienware m9750 with CF 3870 cards...
Windows is detecting that there are 2 displays, when there is only the laptop display on...

Then in Regedit, Edit, Find, Unknown Monitor. You will see two monitors - the first one is probably your real monitor, and the second is the phantom. Delete that monitor. "
