running an XP samsung n120 netbook with 2GB upgrade. webcam is smooth but the audio is on a constant stutter. windows live doesn't exactly have the greatest customer support (so far pretty much nonexistent) and no feedback on the samsung forum. any ideas?

Go to control panel>system to find out if you have the service pack installed.

I suggest you first to try Skype or something like that. If you still have the same issue you atleast know that problem is not Windows Live Messenger. Then you can go to advanced solutions...

I also recommend Skype, Windows live messenger can sometimes be a pain for audio and video. I've never had any problem with Skype
