wmc turns on by itself, almost randomly i think. I then reinstalled vista ultimate and the problem is still there (as i typed it started again)

its really annoying when i am trying to DOTA and wmc jumps out..

I thought a for moment that it could be the ir receiver acting crazy on me, so i tape a strip of aluminum foil on it, but the problem is still there.

now i dunno how it can do this.

    please help

    your reply is appreciated

Go to the search menu and type in 'services'. Then when Services opens, click on 'Name' to sort them in alphabetical order. Lastly, go down to services starting with 'w' and find the ones that are for media center. Make them all 'manual" startup.

no it wouldn't be any different. Only options I can think of:
use the free version of process guard http://www.diamondcs.com.au/processguard/download.php
when wmc starts up it will give you the option to block now, always block, etc.... this setting will be remembered.
Use an antivirus quarantine program to remove the program's security permissions.
another program you can try out is winpatrol.

    hope this helped!!!
