hi my teacher told me that vista is not secure now because micsorsoft took help from hackers
its easy to hack in
is this true
he said vista vill vi secure afte 4-5 security updates
-
The uncrackable OS has already been cracked anyway... Given Microsoft's track record I don't take any of the pronouncements of security seriously.
-
Your teacher is suggesting the people in charge of Microsoft security configured the security with holes on purpose so as to leave open doors for fellow hackers? That's quite the conspiracy theory i must say.
Honestly, i don't think any OS/software can be 100% full proof. There are always going to be people out there that are trying to crack systems. If 98 was full proof they wouldn't have needed XP, if XP was full proof they wouldn't have needed SP2, if that was secure they wouldn't need Vista, and so on. You can't honestly think a group of people can think of every possible security flaw at the onset of a system can you? As in real life, laws are re-written as criminals find loop holes, and ways around things. There are enough bad people out there that you can't account for them all... -
Ok... -
Vista isn't anymore or less secure than any typical new OS that's been released.
Yeah there are already some security issues surrounding Vista.
But so does every OS. -
-
M$ Did have an option way back to "pay-for-flaws" with Vista...A buddy of mine got a nice $1500 check from Microsoft for discovering a flaw in Vista.
-
MS aren't purposely helping hackers, but they did work with NSA...... something for you to think about considering that torture is now acceptable by the CIA
-
What is torturing me is all these Vista problems.
-
-
The point is a company will work with its enemies if there is some gain out of it.
Even in ways that are not exactly ethical or safe. -
-
Pitabread is right, though.

No OS is "secure", and it'd be silly to pretend otherwise. That said, out of the box, Vista is a hell of a lot more secure than XP is out of the box. But it's still not "secure", and will never be. And no, neither are Mac OS or Linux.
But in both cases, you should use firewall + antivirus anyway.
