This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I have a laptop that got destroyed but I still have the windows xp key
    can I use that on a desktop I am building since that laptop is dead as a doornail?

    Is it an OEM version of Windows? If so, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

    But if it's a Retail copy, you can transfer it to your new desktop.
