checking the list of processes i googled them it says they are related to the intel wireless functionality (i have the 3945)
dot1Xcfg.exe 16,4 mb
evteng.exe 13,9 mb
s24evmon.exe 13,2 mb
wlkeeper.exe 14,4 mb
ifrmewrk.exe 19,1 mb
zcfgsvc.exe 14,7
i'm concerned, they are using a whooping 91,7 mb, can some of them be disabled and still use intel proset/wireless ???

I recommend everyone who is using the Intel Proset Wireless software to uninstall it from their systems and use Microsoft Windows' built in wireless network setup software to set up and manage their wireless connections.
Do remember NOT to uninstall the Proset Drivers, because if you do, your wireless network card will stop working until you re-install those drivers. -
do you know if the reception will be the same with both clients? i connect in a campus with very bad quality because of the distances

The signal strength and reception mainly depends on the quality of the hardware and the drivers of your wireless network card. Changing the front end software that provides an interface for the user to interact with the hardware will not affect the performance of the hardware in any way.

As to your original question, unless they are in use, those programs are not really using RAM. When the system needs the RAM, it will swap those processes out to the disk (pagefile), and it will not take up physical RAM. So it does not really hurt anything, except maybe a few seconds of boot-up time.

if they need to be written to the hard disk when the ram is needed to be reclaim, then i don't think they don't hurt , specially if they have no use. (if they don't , that's it)
wireless intel processes using ram, are all of them needed?
