Anyone know of a free wireless internet connection utility that's compatible with any wireless network card?

Alternatively does anyone know a way of telling windows that an installed network card is wireless when it's coming up as wired?

    Thanks

Pretty much every network card I have ever seen, wired or wireless, has the correct drivers on the manufacturer's website. Are you using the correct drivers?

Not exactly sure what you mean by internet connection utility, but since your sig says you have Win2k, then I assume you're talking about the Windows XP wireless Zero-config utility, which Win2k doesn't have.

I don't know of a free utility, but I know McAfee makes a similar wireless connection tool. Your wireless card should come with an internet connection utility on the CD.

Ah yes, it does, the Linksys utility which is the worst peice of software ever created. No matter what I try it just wont connect to any netwrok properly. I have managed to install the wireless card without the utility, I just now need a generic wireless utility to use with it that isn't total rubbish.

Unfortunately, there's not much. If you're using Win2K, you're really pretty much stuck with what they provide for you.

XP actually has the best built in zero-config utility. I recomend it above all else.
