ok, I have a WMV file that I want on a dvd. I used Super to convert the WMV to a "vob DVD compliant" with the output codec as mpeg-2. I everything else default except for the output path. It encoded it no problem and its there and I can even play the vob file with super if i click play from within super. Then I open up CDburnerXP, go to add the vob file and it tells me it can not add the dvd video layout. I even tried burn aware and it tells me the folder with the vob does not contain a valid dvd file.
I am using these softwares because i do not have my laptop now that had roxio on it. I had a trial version of nero but it ran out. So I am stuck finding freeware to do this. Super seems to have done its thing, did I use a wrong setting?
Or can someone suggest another program you might be familiar with to convert wmv to dvd. And I have used CDburnerXP before so I know it works.

I suggest using Nero Suite, they have an awesome video encoder/burner with built-in menu mini app. You can find a fully functional trial over at filehippo.com (Uninstall/Reinstall and it will work)

Nero is a good piece of software in general. While it is criticized as bloated, this criticism is mostly from the Alcohol 120 crowd, who need something fast and small for gaming.

i actually really like nero. wish i would have bought it instead of roxio. but i have roxio on my laptop and i'm not buring nero to get me through a few more weeks. i looked at file hippo but wasn't quite sure what i was doing. tried reinstalling nero using what i downloaded before and it said the license expired. any other ideas?

Go and uninstall it, then use CCleaner to get rid of files and extra reg. Download the latest 7.x version, it will be under the 8.x versions, install and enjoy. I love the 7.x versions, so I suggest you use them. The reason it is saying license expired is because it has left files/reg after the uninstall.
