    wth?! cpu usage is idling at 57-63% after defragging?!

    so i just defragged my HD using jkdefrag since my computer was starting to act too slow than usual... and i found this....

    since my svchost is running at 98,000+ i checked what services it was running and heres a capture...

    mind you that i just scanned my weekly scheduled malware bytes, nod32, and superantispyware programs.so im pretty sure its none of those stuff. can any1 have some input with this? thanks in advance!!!!

    check whats causing the cpu load then restart you system...

    i just did....after seeing it ran around that percentage i restarted and right after booting i checked and thats how it is... updated my 1st post

    It says Fahcore_81.exe is using up resources.

    Folding @ Home is enabled *sigh*

    folding at home is that anything to do with my GPU driiver or something?

    nope just me...no one EVER touched my computer....this sounds bad...

    edit: i see that i can just "disable" fah core on my services in msconfig...would that help?

    Why not just see if you can uninstall it? It's not malware or anything...not something that should be deliberately hidden in your computer. You or someone else probably installed it or something that included it (Google Compute maybe?)...

    lol...so i went ahead and disabled it on services in msconfig...restarted...and my cpu usage went down to 11-18%...weird...thanks for the help guys! NBR is d best...

    I am guessing this is the m5750 listed in your sig. The latest ATi drivers include a fah client in the package and thats probably where it came from. It is supposed to use the GPU as the client processor but still needs some CPU time to send the data to the GPU.

    You better figure out how it got installed in your system. Im guessing it was bundled with other software..
