    xp wont install some drivers for vostro 1088, help!

    i have dell vostro 1088-5, I had windows 7 64 bit, before.. It worked perfectly till i switched to windows xp, I have download windows xp compatible drivers for the laptop, when I try to install the graphics driver, the windows gives an error that the system does not minimum requirments to install the driver,

    similarly for the conexent audio driver, it gives an error that it could not find the media device for this driver.....

    However, I can install every other driver for win xp, except these too

    Please note that in order to install my windows xp from windows 7, I had to change the SATA operation in BIOS from 'AHCI' to 'ATA'... because i couldnt install xp on SATA....

    Kindly help me with this issue...

    Have you tried installing the drivers through windows update? Also what "minimum requirements" does it not meet, if it specifies any?

    i have no idea about using the windows update...

    error is just a message saying that "This Computer Does meet the minimum system requirements for installing the software. The setup will exit"

    The error is message pops up when i try install the video driver,
    when i try to install the audio driver....
    It says "Setup could not find the MEDIA device for this driver"

    I have download all drivers carefully from Laptops, Desktop Computers, Monitors, Printers & PC Accessories | Dell website

    I have no idea what is going wrong...

    any help???? please????

    Windows update will try to install your computer's drivers for you. If you are uncomfortable doing that, don't know how, or that doesn't work, no problem.

    Did you install 32 or 64-bit windows XP? If you aren't sure, it is 32-bit.

    A big question is, what graphics does your laptop come with? Does it have the ATI 4330? The reason I ask is that the 4330 is an option on the Vostro 1088, but Dell only has the driver for the integrated graphics on their website.
